REAL WEDDING – Lindsay & Ryan
Real Wedding couple Lindsay & Ryan are beautiful inside and out. I met Lindsay and her mother at a bridal show and her mother loss my business card. They went on a hunt for me for about a month before we reconnected. What an honor it was to participate in this wedding.
Blair Phillips Photography who I absolutely love, took these wonderful shots of the wedding.

Cocktails Anyone??
This blog posting is dedicated to my bride Karen because of her set answer to any irritating situation, “I need some drinks!”
The “Specialty Drink” at wedding receptions has become a vital part of the festivities. It’s a fun and tasty way to add a personal signature to your wedding reception.
Scienceofdrink.com is one of a my favorite websites for libations. This site provides you with hundreds of drink recipes and loads of cocktail pictures to help inspire you in mixing up your own “Specialty Drink” for your party or reception!
Below you will find several individual drink recipes with the prepared drink pictured in a beautiful glass, thanks to Science of Drink.

Fall Colors in Wedding Design – Part 2
Crazy BOLD Colors! In Part 2 of “Fall Colors in Wedding Design”, I want to display my other favorite fall color combination from the Pantone Color Institute. They are American Beauty, Iron and Warm Olive.
American Beauty
Why this color? Because RED is my absolute favorite color of all time! American Beauty is a deep jewel tone, true red that balances well with other colors. It’s perfect for all skin tones. American Beauty is a rich and passionate color that ignites the senses and makes us feel alive!
Iron
The Pantone Color Institute has pegged the strong yet understated Iron as the “new black”, this fall season. Iron is making traditional basics much more interesting. Neither gray nor brown, Iron is a grounding color that coordinates well with all colors in the palette.
Warm Olive
Warm Olive, a rich yellow-green adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to fall. This is my favorite accent color when doing floral design. When combined, this tangy, intriguing hue makes all other colors more interesting!

A LETTER TO MY BRIDES
Diet woes of brides is nothing new. Who doesn’t want to look their best on their wedding day? But when a bride loses her life because of an inappropriate diet, we should all be questioning the quality of diet information that is being communicated over the airways, in books and over the internet.
Thatsfit.com reports today that Samantha Clowe, a 34 year old woman that was preparing for her wedding went on a crash diet that may have contributed to her recent death. She loss more than 40lbs in 11 weeks on the controversial Lighter Side Diet . This diet provides you with a little over 500 calories a day! She was literally starving herself. To get an idea on what the calorie intake should be for women, please click on “Calories”.
To all of my brides out there, DIETS don’t work. I know this because I have struggled with my weight as well. What we have to do is exercise and eat properly. Is this hard to do for some of us, oh yes! But there is no other way around this. Do not let the authors of these crash diets tell you otherwise. You have to move more and limit the fat, processed foods and sugars. Unfortunately, we want it quickly and quickly will not keep it off or assure you good health.
A spokesperson from the company Lighter Life claims no responsibility and stated: “We were very sad to hear the news about Samantha Clowe, but Ms. Clowe was still clinically obese and her health may have already been compromised even though her BMI went from 37 to 32 at the time of her death.
Home Office pathologist Dr Alfredo Walker said a post-mortem examination failed to establish a cause of death, adding that it may be related to her low calorie diet and weight loss.
Samantha Clowe didn’t want to be a “fat bride”, but now she will not be a bride at all because of a desperate attempt to fit into the “perfect bride” perception. Ladies when embarking upon this journey, please remember what is important. Your future life with the one you love, not an outside perception, image of what you think you have to look like on your wedding day.

Fall Colors in Wedding Design – Part 1
The Fall Colors in Wedding Design for this year are very robust, vivid colors that catch the eye as written about in the Pantone Color Institute Fall Color Report 2009. This report forecasts what colors are hot this fall in fashion. And as we all know, the trends in fashion dictate the color trends in floral and interior design as well.
Each season, Pantone surveys the designers of New York Fashion Week in February to identify the 10 most directional colors. Like a painter’s palette, fall 2009 offers choice and diversity, but the unique integration of colors is what makes it so appealing.
We will examine the different color combinations in several blog posts.
The first color combination I would like to showcase is Purple Heart and Honey Yellow. A warmer, more subdued Honey Yellow carries the 2009 color of the year, PANTONE 14-0848 Mimosa, through to fall and winter with its golden tones. Pairing Honey Yellow with its color wheel opposite, Purple Heart, will surely add a surprising flair.
